Caledonian Society of Oman

Failte Oirbh!   Welcome to you!
We are proud and honoured to be the oldest expatriate society in Oman, bringing together everyone (native or friend) who loves any aspect of the bonnie land.
Scotland is a hospitable, exciting country which has a history more chequered than tartan! So its not surprising that we want to share our hospitality and friendship to raise funds for chairties both in Scotland and Oman.
We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support of our members. So come and join us - it really couldn't be easier....

The Caledonian Society of Oman was founded in 1976 to enable Scots and their friends from all nations to meet and celebrate Scotland’s heritage.

Our two main events are the St. Andrew's Ball and the Burns' Supper.  The St Andrew’s Ball is held as close as possible to 30th November (St Andrew’s Day) and provides an opportunity to celebrate all things Scottish while Burns’ Night in January commemorates the life and work of Scotland’s National Poet, Robert Burns.

Eating and dancing under the stars to some of the best Scottish bands also has a serious side.  Over the past years, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, our members and their guests, the Society has raised considerable sums of money for charities in Scotland and Oman.

The Society welcomes everyone of Scots descent as well as those who appreciate all things Scottish.
